White House Launches the Fair Chance Business Pledge

On April 11, 2016, the White House announced that 19 companies signed the Obama Administration’s Fair Chance Business Pledge. The pledge calls on its signers “to provide individuals with criminal records, including formerly incarcerated individuals, a fair chance to participate in the American economy.” Companies who signed the pledge include: American Airlines, Busboys and Poets, The Coca-Cola Company, Facebook, Georgia Pacific, Google, Greyston Bakery, The Hershey Company, The John Hopkins Hospital and Health System, Koch Industries, Libra Group, PepsiCo, Prudential, Starbucks, Uber, Under Armour/Plank Industries, Unilever, and Xerox.

Later this year, the Obama Administration will host another second round of business leaders who will also sign the pledge with a goal of having more companies and organizations to join the Fair Chance Business Pledge.
